John Glenn celebrates his 95th birthday today. A hero in many boys’ lives as a decorated military pilot, test pilot, astronaut (twice), and U.S. Senator, John Glenn has racked up an impressive list of accomplishments:
- World War II fighter pilot (59 missions in a prop-driven Corsair)
- Korean war fighter pilot (63 missions in an F9F Panther, 27 missions in an F-86F Sabre)
- Test pilot
- Original Mercury astronaut
- First American in orbit and fifth human in space
- U.S. Senator
- Payload Specialist on the International Space Station at age 77 (1998)

As someone we all looked up to for his accomplishments and grace, we wish a very happy 95th birthday to Senator John Glenn.
