BoomerMale Storycast SC0007: Tear Down This Wall

With six simple words, stated as a command, President Ronald Reagan
gave emphasis and purpose to the efforts of the people trapped behind
the Berlin Wall. Every Boomer Male remembers the words and their
effect when the wall crumbled 29 months later.

But these words were not uttered without debate within the President’s
inner circle of advisers, many felt it was not the right time for the
speech and especially not these words. President Reagan went with his
gut and left the words in.

As we believe here at BoomerMale.com, nothing is impossible, even in
our third acts. Something for you to think about the next time you
find your inner voice saying to you, “you can’t do this.” Or, “you’re
too old for that.” Take the leap and the rest is history.

About Author

Tom Hering is a certified Boomer. Just ask him about his love for Shasta grape soda, fritos and VW bugs. By day, he is a copywriter and storyteller (www.heringcreative.com) at his world hq in Portland, OR. Previously, he worked as writer and creative director for respected agencies in Seattle and Portland. Tom is somewhat fanatical about working out (practice what he preaches at boomermale.com), rooting for the Ducks and enjoying the proverbial IPAs of P-town. Hanging out on weekends includes hiking the Columbia River Gorge and cycling (a new addiction) with one of his sons and a few friends.
